Power wipes remove grease from electricals

Combining a high absorbent, low lint specialist wipe with a citrus solvent has produced a high performance, high quality impregnated wipe for use in the cleaning of electrical components.
Mykal are proud to announce the launch of their new Electrical Power Wipes, a pre-impregnated low linting wipe containing a powerful cleaner for removal of contamination, grease and oil from electrical components. Mykal have combined an industry established high absorbent, low lint specialist wipe with their own De.Solv.It Fast Dry Precision Cleaner (DSI 1000FD) citrus solvent. This has lead to the creation of a high performance, high quality impregnated wipe for use in the cleaning of electrical components.

The wipes have also been recommended for use with oil filled electrical equipment by EA Technology following extensive tests on behalf of the Distribution Network Operators via the Strategic Technology Programme.

For the cleaning of electrical components, including switchgear, panels, equipment, motors, cables or overhead power lines, Mykal Electrical Power Wipes are powerful enough to remove even the heaviest greases, oils and industrial contaminants.

Electrical Power Wipes are sold in re-sealable sachets of 40 wipes, with a re-usable hard plastic container for added durability and are available to the utilities industry from Horizon Utility Supplies.

Power monitoring unit gains conformity

Dranetz-BMI has received a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from Technology International (Europe) for its Encore Series permanent power monitoring unit in 50/60 Hz AC power supplies.
Dranetz-BMI, a worldwide leader in power monitoring instrumentation, has received a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from Technology International (Europe) Limited for its Encore Series permanent power monitoring unit. The Encore conforms to the requirements of IEC 61000-4-30:2003 Class A Testing and Measurement Techniques- Power Quality Monitoring. The IEC 61000-4-30:2003 defines the methods for measurement and interpretation of results for power quality parameters in 50/60Hz AC power supply systems.

These are the most stringent requirements for power quality instruments established to date.

The basis for these requirements is to ensure that the power quality measurements are accurate and repeatable.

The next generation of permanent monitoring systems, the Encore Series' configurable design, allows users to specify the right instrumentation arrangement for their specific application.

With the Encore Series, users have their choice of voltage, current and data acquisition modules to build from one to four virtual instruments in a single, compact, cost-effective format.

By combining four modules in one instrument for applications that previously required two or more instruments, users will save money, prevent integration aggravation and gain physical space.

The Encore Series uses the same multi-user web interface of the Signature System and the local color touch screen display (optional) of the PX5 family of portable Dranetz-BMI products.

The Encore Series Software provides a user-friendly web browser environment for entire systems and provides advanced trending, data analysis, reporting, real time and setups for one or more instruments.

Non-metallic, flexible conduits resist heat

PEEK high performance, non-metallic, flexible conduits offer 'super low' fire hazard, high temperature, high chemical resistance, EMI screening and abuse resistant combinations of characteristics.
Leading designer and manufacturer of specialist electrical conduit, Kopex International, offers a highly innovative range of PEEK high performance, non-metallic, flexible conduits. They offer 'super low' fire hazard, high temperature, high chemical resistance, EMI screening and abuse resistant combinations, making the PEEK range ideally suited to any number of hazardous or extreme applications within industry. Manufactured from the specialist polymer PEEK, which has excellent mechanical, thermal and chemical properties, the range is available in basic form as a non-metallic flexible conduit.

It can be applied throughout the offshore, nuclear, MOD, petrochemical, heat treatment, aerospace and rail sectors.

For applications requiring high EMI screening, the 'PEEK' conduit is overbraided with a tinned copper sheath.

Alternatively, for applications demanding abuse resistance and high mechanical strength, a stainless steel overbraid is employed.

PEEK conduits meet the requirements of IEC61386 with operating temperatures of 45 deg C to +250 deg C.

In static applications the conduit can be used in temperatures down to -60 deg Cto +3000 deg C.

Properties include an extreme temperature range from -60 deg C to +260 deg C continuous operation, lowest smoke and toxicity of any thermoplastics, UL94 VO flammability rating, best chemical resistance, London Underground (LUL) approval, FDA approval, radiation resistant (2000 Mrads), self extinguishing and availability in uncovered and braided versions.

PEEK is just part of Kopex's continually expanding range of specialist conduit systems available from its network of accredited specialist stockists.

The company prides itself on providing quality and performance, problem solving and full approvals for high specification specialist solutions.

Their rigorous quality standards and a dedicated development programme ensure not only the highest specification and reliability, but also the most cost effective solutions.
