Connectors simplify power bus installations

A family of industrial connector products facilitate the installation of a 'pluggable' serial power bus for powering a number of devices such as motors.

HanPower T from Harting is a family of industrial connector products which facilitate the installation of a 'pluggable' serial power bus for powering a number of devices such as motors. The design of the new system allows the use of pre-assembled fully tested cables, guaranteeing fault-free wiring and minimising installation time. The HanPower T concept has been developed in response to the need to 'future-proof' new power distribution systems in industrial plants.

These systems have essentially the same requirements as data-transmission lines, in that one mechanically robust, well protected pluggable cable line has to supply several installed devices.

HanPower T components allow a 400V power bus to be implemented with 'T' functionality that makes it possible to efficiently connect power to several devices in series.

For currents of up to 16A, the system uses the proven Han Q5/0 inserts integrated into a plastics housing, with one connector for power in, one for power out and one 'T' connection for supply to the device.

For higher current requirements (up to 40 A) and greater mechanical protection, Han Q4/2 inserts are mounted in a zinc die-cast case.

An additional feature of these inserts is the provision of finger protection on the male contacts.

Custom pre-assembled, labelled and 100% tested cables for HanPower T can be built or purchased prior to installation, thus minimising assembly times and guaranteeing an error-free installed power distribution system.
